Dark Chocolate Stallion I first noticed Sky Hawk about four years ago, when we selected him to breed Docks Almond Joi for her first foal. I was attracted to his stylish and correct conformation. When I saw him more recently, he had been out of training and enjoying a leisurely winter. Being given the opportunity to ride him "fresh out of the barn"...in otherwords not in "prime" condition, I couldn't help but wonder how he'd move and how he'd behave. Not every horse gaits well when not in “condition". Almost every horse that comes out of a stall is a little "fresh". Well when a horse is as well gaited and well mannered as this one, absolutely nothing is amiss! He gaited off smooth as silk, didn't miss a beat and his manners were impeccable. Then again, knowing his history, being used as a hunting partner, and even being ridden once in an old saddle tied up with bale rope...we're not surprised! After riding him, his flashy smooth gait, coupled with his gentlemanly manners made him the obvious choice to come home with us! His classic, old time bloodlines are a bonus! |
